Where do you start (3)?
- Repeat business - depending on your business you may want to attract people to your site on a regular basis, in the hope they will then wish to work with you. You could provide regularly changing information of your industry. Consider a monthly update on new regulations, cases, innovation, instructions, help, product advice, etc. Giving free advice, (accompanied by a relevant health warning of course!) is one way of getting people to regularly use your site.
- Key words - if you expect some of your customers to find you through internet search engines, you have to supply key words for those engines to search upon. So, think of words which represent your product, service and values. Include geographical and industry terms, including product names as appropriate.
- Site description - some search engines use a description of the site in their listing. It is easier if you can give them a ready made sentence which sums up what your site is all about.
- Privacy - This comes in two parts. First consider if any parts of your site will be for only some people, for instance, employees, customers, etc. Secondly, consider what information you may be taking from people through forms etc, and how you might use it. Then spell it out in a privacy policy which can be linked to your home page. We can produce a privacy policy page for you from the information you supply. It is important that you explain in your policy how people can contact you, so your addresses should be clearly displayed.
